About GreenUP

Since 1992, GreenUP has been central and eastern Ontario’s leading organization focused on creating an environmentally healthy and sustainable community in Peterborough/Nogojiwanong, and beyond. This work covers many aspects of sustainability including green infrastructure, active transportation, waste management, energy efficiency, and native plant propagation, among other themes. From tree planting to home energy coaching, school programs to Green Economy Peterborough, GreenUP’s programs and initiatives educate and inspire positive climate action with tangible results. 

GreenUP also manages Ecology Park, a five-acre “urban oasis” in that supports local biodiversity, operates a native plant and tree nursery, and offers educational opportunities for the community including children’s camps and adult workshops. Ecology Park is located at 1899 Ashburnham Drive. The GreenUP Ecology Park Native Plant and Tree Nursery is staffed from May to October, and sells trees, shrubs, plants, compost, and mulch.
