About County of Peterborough

Peterborough County is an upper tier municipal government with a mandate to provide regional public services which includes promoting regional economic development and tourism opportunities (Lang Pioneer Village Museum), land use planning and development, transportation systems, solid waste management, public health, social services and emergency medical services (land ambulance). We serve a permanent population of 54,000 and covers 4.000 square kilometers, is comprised of eight (8) lower tiers. We are an active partner with the many organizations with a common vision that sees our community fostering a sustainable green environment where there is opportunity for growth, prosperity and pride in place.
